I polled young people about what they would like to do after retirement. Almost 90 percent said they wanted to serve God. Then, I asked why not serve God now. Most chuckled and said they wanted to enjoy life.
I don’t know why people think that the gospel is for post-retirement. Is it because it is easier for them to serve God when they are older than when they are younger? Or is it that they are afraid of death and want to know God during their last days on earth?
What is life? We are all called to live a holy life. Life is a walk with God, so that your true self will be unveiled. Just have a heart to seek Him. As you abide in him and He in you, your character becomes more like him. You don’t have to know it all. It is one step at a time. The journey of knowing God is lifelong. As you start a personal relationship with him, you will know him, and the relationship gets stronger as you mature through the years.
David, as a young boy, walked with God throughout his entire life, and he was considered God’s friend, and God was with him every step of the way.
“Remember, your creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, I find no pleasure in them (Ecclesiastes 12:1).
Do not forget God in your youth. Surrender all to him and desire an intimate relationship with him for a strong foundation in the future and beyond.
‘If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied (1 Corinthians 15:19).
